Our Guiding Principles:
Our Pillars of Success:
Matt Kuzel founded Kurent Safety in 2000. Prior to starting the company, Matt served in the military and held various safety director positions that led to significant decreases in accidents and injuries. He gained perspective on the benefits of a safety culture for employees and their employers. Workers stay safe on the job knowing they are in an environment that puts a priority on their safety, while employers avoid financial losses associated with absenteeism and workers compensation claims.
Through these experiences, Matt discovered there were plenty of businesses that simply sell equipment, but they weren't always staffed with knowledgeable people with real-life safety experience. He started Kurent Safety to address the need for top-of-the-line supplies and people who can consult with those in the field about the best solutions for their unique challenges. Kurent also provides contractual services to companies who don't have an in-house safety expert - all with the goal of promoting a culture of safety in the workplace.
Matt is a veteran of the U.S. Army and spent 14 years as a medic with the Illinois National Guard. He comes from a proud military family. His father, brother, grandparents, and extended family have either served or are serving on active duty in the military.
In 2016, Kurent became federally certified as a Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB), a distinction that makes us classified as a diverse supplier which offers many benefits to our customers and community.
Today, the company employs 5 full time employees and carries thousands of safety products and equipment.
